Silver Line Station Destination

*Fares shown are effective June 29, 2014. Travel times are calculated assuming peak period schedules and include five minutes for transfers. Actual travel times may differ slightly.

A $1 surcharge per trip is applied when using a paper farecard. To avoid this surcharge, use a SmarTrip card.

Information about specific rail lines

Silver Line: Trains run between Wiehle-Reston East and Largo Town Center stations every six minutes during rush hour and every 12-20 minutes during midday, late night and weekends.

Orange Line: The Orange Line runs every six minutes during rush hours. At stations from East Falls Church to Stadium-Armory a combination of Orange and Silver line trains arrive every 3 minutes during rush hours. All Orange Line trains run between Vienna and New Carrollton; service to Largo Town Center is provided by Silver Line trains.

Blue Line: During rush hour, Blue Line trains run every 12 minutes. Some existing Blue Line trains are converted to Yellow Line trains and run between Franconia-Springfield and Greenbelt via the Yellow Line bridge.

Information about bus services

All  sv_icon_small  Silver Line stations offer bus service.

Existing Metrobus and locally provided bus service helps facilitate access to the new Silver Line stations. This plan:

  • Provides greater customer ease and satisfaction
  • Serves new markets
  • Improves reliability and service efficiency
  • Improves the efficient use of the Metrobus fleet
  • Increases transit ridership
  • Encourages the use of Silver Line

Dulles International Airport Service

Dulles International Airport is currently served by Metrobus Route 5A, Fairfax Connector Route 981 and the Washington Flyer. These services connect Dulles International Airport to Washington DC and the Metrorail system.

Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) express buses from Manassas and Linton Hall – in Prince William County – serves Tysons Corner Station, replacing existing service to Vienna and West Falls Church. Contact
